Edison: new gas discovery in Algeria

Positive results of the drilling of two new wells in the Algerian desert: production tests registered total flows of about 1 million cubic meters per day

RWE Dea has made two new gas discoveries in Algeria’s Sahara desert, in the Reggane and Ahnet basins.

The first of the two finds, exploration well KLS-1, is part of a new isolated structure known as Kahlouche Sud in the North Reggane Concession. The first production tests registered flows of 629,000 cubic meters per day of gas at a depth of 3,720 meters through a choke size of 32/64".

Tethys Oil: spring 2009 drilling program on blocks 3 and 4 onshore Oman initiated

Tethys will participate in a two well drilling program during spring of 2009 on Blocks 3 and 4 onshore Oman. Preparations to drill the first well - Farha South-3 on Block 3 – are ongoing. The well is estimated to spud in the first week of February. The second well - East Saiwan-2 on Block 4 – is scheduled to follow as soon as Farha South-3 has been finalized.

Gazprom obtains rights for E&P in Algerian El Assel area

Gazprom Netherlands B.V. and the Algerian State Oil and Gas Corporation (ASOGC) Sonatrach have signed an Agreement for the transfer of rights for hydrocarbon exploration and production in the onshore area El Assel located in the Berkine Basin of Algeria.
