Egypt, India Talk Petroleum, Mineral Exports

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, met with C. Sushma, Chargé d'Affaires at the Indian Embassy in Cairo, along with a delegation comprising heads and officials from Indian petrochemical and fertilizer companies, including the Ostwal Group of Industries, FACT, HURL, and RCF.

The delegation is currently visiting Egypt on an official mission commissioned by the Indian government, represented by the Indian Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, to explore opportunities for strengthening cooperation with Egypt in the fields of petrochemicals, mining, and fertilizers.

As part of the first pillar of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources' strategy to attract investments, increase natural gas production, and establish incentives for promising frontier, the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) has signed a preliminary Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ExxonMobil Egypt Upstream Ltd. to lay the foundation for a new system in the Cairo and Masry offshore concession areas in the Mediterranean.
