ECHEM Production Pushes Up Domestic Petrochemicals Output to 4mn Tons Annually

The Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company (ECHEM) has contributed 4 million tons per year (mt/y) to the overall Domestic petrochemicals industry during the 2024/2025 helping to meet local demand and enhancing export opportunities, said Chairman Ibrahim Mekki during the company’s general assembly meeting.

Gas Production Rates Boosted by Joint Efforts with Partners: Badawi

The joint efforts exerted by Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, in cooperation with foreign partners in the energy sector, have boosted natural gas production rates and ushered back a high-output phase, Minister Karim Badawi said during a meeting with CEOs and representatives of foreign petroleum, natural gas, petrochemical, and mining companies operating in Egypt.

Ganope Records 6% Oil Output Growth in FY 2024/25

Ganoub El Wadi Petroleum Holding Company (Ganope) and its subsidiaries produced about 12 million barrels of crude oil during fiscal year (FY) 2024/25. This averaged approximately 32,500 barrels per day (b/d), a 6% increase over the previous year. Additionally, the company produced 2.2 billion cubic feet (bcf) of associated gas, Ashraf Bahaa, Ganope chairman, stated.

EGAS Awards 9 Gas Blocks, Adds 1.85 tcf to Reserves in FY 2024/25

The Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS)  awarded nine new natural gas exploration blocks and finalized six new agreements with total investments of approximately $479 million during fiscal year (FY) 2024/25, according to the company's chairman and Managing Director, Mahmoud Abdelhamid. 

Abdelhamid revealed these figures during the EGAS general assembly meeting, chaired by Karim Badawi, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. The chairman pointed out that several seismic survey programs have been completed in various exploration and prospecting areas by the company. Badawi emphasized the importance of these surveys, which serve as an incentive for companies interested in working in Egypt's oil and gas sector.
