U.S., Europe Consider Ban on Russian Oil Imports

The US and its European allies have entered into ongoing discussions to ban imports of Russian oil, Reuters reported in reference to a statement by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

According to Reuters, the White House coordinated with key Congressional committees moving forward with their own ban.

Despite the fact that Europe relies on Russian crude oil and natural gas, it is actively thinking about the idea of banning Russian products, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters.

In the same context, U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi also said that the chamber is currently considering legislation to ban Russian oil imports and that Congress intends to pump $10 billion to finance humanitarian aid for Ukraine.

Furthermore, Japan is searching with the United States and European countries to stop Russian oil imports, according to Reuters.
