TotalEnergies ADNOC Marketing, a joint venture (JV) between TotalEnergies and ADNOC Distribution, in partnership with Misr El Kheir Foundation, has launched an integrated rehabilitation project for people with disabilities in Sharqia Governorate. The project includes specialized units providing rehabilitation and support services for children, aiming to provide sustainable support to beneficiaries, their families, and the surrounding community.
Ahmed El-Sharqawy El-Tahawy, Project Manager for People with Disabilities at the Hussainiya Center in Sharqia, said: “The project highlights the importance of providing specialized rehabilitation services based on children’s actual needs through an integrated system that includes sensory integration, speech therapy, skills development, and learning difficulties units.
The project has served 60 children since it began operations, providing 1,167 specialized rehabilitation services. It aims to reach 100 beneficiaries in the next phase, according to a company statement.
“TotalEnergies has been present in Egypt since 1998. For more than 25 years, our role has not been limited to providing energy solutions, but has also included supporting the communities where we operate. We believe that meaningful social responsibility depends on sustainable initiatives that create a tangible impact beyond one-time support,” said Moataz Nazzal, General Manager of TotalEnergies ADNOC Marketing Company.
“We were pleased during our visit to the center to see the impact that has been achieved, and, more importantly, the happiness among the children and their families. This confirms the importance of continuing such initiatives,” he added.
The project relies on specialized staff, with 15 specialists trained and four specialists employed as part of the project, supporting the readiness of the teams and the continuity of rehabilitation services.
Adnan El-Tahawy, Partnerships Manager at Misr El Kheir Foundation, said: “This project highlights the importance of moving from providing individual services to developing an integrated rehabilitation system that responds to the actual needs of children by providing specialized services, supporting families, and raising community awareness of the needs of people with disabilities.”
In addition to services provided at the units, the project conducts awareness activities at schools near Saud Center. To date, these activities have reached three schools and 162 people, including 140 students and 22 teachers and school staff.
During the next phase, the project will continue expanding its services and reaching more children and their families, while maintaining community awareness activities to strengthen its long-term impact on the local community.
