The new pricing indexation mechanism is boosting energy investments and increase production in Egypt, according to Ossama Guenedy, Energy Committee Head in Egyptian Junior Business Association (EJB), El Watan News reported.

Applying this mechanism on the energy production, transporting and distribution markets will affect the electricity sector by attracting many companies and satisfying consumers.

Guenedy pointed out to the future projects that can be established, such as the Co-Generation and Waste-to-Energy projects, especially that now Egypt has the biggest and latest power station in the world.

Guenedy also stated that the electricity sector has turned its production shortage into surplus, as he praised Mohamed Shaker, the Minister of Electricity’s, efforts in introducing new technologies to the market, increasing Egypt’s electricity and helping Egypt become a regional energy hub.
