Suez Oil Company (SUCO) increased its proven reserves by 3.9 million barrels (mmbbl) of oil and improved drilling efficiency by cutting drilling time from 80 days to 49 days during fiscal year (FY) 2025/26. The company also reduced chemical costs by 50% without affecting production, according to a statement by the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC).

SUCO Chairman Mohamed Samir said the company sustained production through the operation of electric submersible pumps (ESPs) at the A Platform wells and accelerated its development plans.

The company continued to optimize its processing, shipping, and storage facilities to provide services to neighboring companies operating in the Ras Budran and Zeit Bay fields. It also increased the production capacity of its industrial wastewater treatment facility at the Ras Budran fields.

SUCO is preparing to drill the C3 exploratory well in its Ras Budran concession area and recorded 7 million safe working hours during the year.

The company’s performance is part of a five-year plan aimed at doubling production, including increasing the number of producing wells at Ras Budran from 14 to 21, while enhancing the contribution of mature fields to Egypt’s oil and gas production through greater efficiency, sustainability, and digital transformation.

SUCO  is an Egyptian petroleum company engaged in oil exploration, development, and production, particularly in the Gulf of Suez, including the Ras Budran and Zeit Bay areas. It operates under the supervision of the EGPC.
