Stirling to Train Kurdish Oil Workers in HSE

UAE-based Stirling Group, the leading provider of health, safety and environmental (HSE) services, has partnered with the EU Iraq Energy Center (EUIEC) to deliver risk management training for the Iraqi oil and gas industry, reported Trade Arabia.

A series of three day courses on dealing with uncertainty and risk in the global energy sector will take place at a Stirling’s training center in Erbil, Kurdistan, in partnership with the KRG Ministry of Natural Resources’ Competency Development Program.

Roland Berger’s Principal, Stefan Haid, was quoted by Energy Global as saying that a brief market assessment had demonstrated a great need for hands on knowledge and skills in this field. The management consultancy company will be responsible for the implementation of the EUIEC project.

The target group of the program are graduates. There are plans to expand the training scheme to the entire region by creating a network of skilled and highly competent workers.
