Sound Energy Drilled 2nd Well at Tendara

Sound Energy Plc, the oil and gas exploration and production company, announced that it has completed drilling of its second gas well TE-7 at Tendara, Morocco. The company expects the first commercial gas from the property during the first half of 2019, reported Proactive Investors.

The well came to a to total measured depth of  3,459m corresponding to a vertical depth of 2,611m. Additionally, the company currently estimates a total vertical net gas pay of approximately 28 meters, similar to TE-6 well, on a vertical basis, according to Your Project News.  The near-term potential of the asset could be anywhere up to 3-4tcf of gas.

Furthermore, Sound Energy is now preparing for a 70-day flow test, which will confirm production sustainability and aid in comprehensive field development planning. The first well on the Tendara licence, TE-6 flow rate, was of 17mcf/d which exceeded the company’s expectations.

Egypt Oil&Gas reported early August that Sound Energy had confirmed a significant gas discovery and a potential single gas column at the company’s Tendrara license, onshore Morocco. At the time of the report the company together with Schlumberger, was preparing for the second well TE-7.
