Sinopec’s largest refining subsidiary, Zhenhai Refining and Chemical Corporation, has resumed operations after a four-month overhaul, according to Reuters.
According to a spokesman for Sinopec, “All production units at Zhenhai are now operating at high utilization rates”.
The refinery, based in east China’s coastal city of Ningbo, has a crude oil processing capacity of 23 million tonnes per year, or 460,000 barrels per day (bbl/d).
In March, the company started construction on a hydrocracking unit at the Zhenhai refinery. This unit will increase refining capacity by an additional four million tonnes per year.
