SCA Extends Discount Fees for Crude Oil Tankers

The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) is extending some of its decisions regarding the discounts granted for crude oil tankers passing through the Suez Canal until December 31.

According to a publication issued by SCA’s official website, container ships traveling between US Gulf and Caribbean area on one side and ports of Karachi and Cochin on the other side enjoys a discount of 45%. while those moving towards East of Cochin port get a 75% discount from the fees.

Moreover, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG)  traveling between West of India ports and the Gulf Coast of the US will enjoy a discount of 24% from the normal fees, while the tankers traveling to East of Kochi ports until Singapore obtain a 60% discount. Ships which are reaching Singapore ports and its Eastern parts take a 75% discount.

Oil tankers traveling between Latin America from Colombia and ports of Asia from Karachi and its Eastern parts obtain a discount of 75% from the fees.
