Emerson Process Management is providing automation and engineering services for a Qatargas project that will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 1.6 m tonnes annually, reported Trade Arabia.
The $1-b Jetty Boil-Off Gas (JBOG) Recovery facility recovers the gas flared during liquefied natural gas (LNG) loading at the six LNG berths in Ras Laffan Port.
This environmental investment is one of the largest in the world and is now fully operational, announced a statement, adding that the facility is expected to recover more than 600,000 tonnes of liquefied natural gas per year.
According to Oil Review Middle East Emerson specialists will also manage key elements, including automation engineering, configuration, start-up, training, commissioning support and other services.
The company’s automation solutions include the DeltaV distributed control system and Fisher control valves and Rosemount measurement instruments.
