Prime Minister Stresses the Necessity of Increasing Production, Paying Partners’ Dues

Prime Minster Mostafa Madbouly has met with the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi stressing the necessity of fast increasing the petroleum’s sector production in cooperation with the foreign partners and focusing on paying those partners’ dues.

Madbouly also highlighted the keenness to provide the needed funds to the energy sector and the need to increases the national strategic reserves of energy.

For his part, Badawi affirmed that the ministry’s vision during the coming period aims to employ all ideas, expertise, and technological methods to improve work, increase production rates, and make new discoveries, which contributes to the growth of Egypt’s oil and gas resources in order to meet the needs.

Additionally, he pointed out the current efforts to communicate with officials of various international companies operating in Egypt to pay parts of their dues, scheduling them, and agreeing on a plan to advance work in various fields with the aim of increasing the volume of production of petroleum products.

In addition, the minister explained that he is coordinating with the Ministers of Electricity and Finance, aiming to pay the dues required to provide the petroleum materials needed to operate the power stations, thus contributing to the implementation of what the government announced regarding stopping the electricity load reduction plan.
