PM Madbouly Inspects Ruhrpumpen Egypt, Boosting Local Manufacturing and Export of Centrifugal Pumps

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly conducted an inspection tour of Ruhrpumpen Egypt, a company specializing in the manufacturing and assembly of centrifugal pumps.

This visit aligns with the government’s commitment to advancing industries that supply critical components for major projects, particularly pumps, as part of a broader strategy to reduce imports and strengthen domestic production in key sectors.

During the tour, Madbouly received an overview from Mohamed Shehata, General Manager of Ruhrpumpen Egypt, about the company’s operations since its establishment. Shehata highlighted that the company’s annual production rate has reached 520 pumps, with local manufacturing comprising up to 75% for certain models.

He added that the company’s sales reached EUR 10.3 million in 2023, with a target of EUR 11 million by the end of 2024. Shehata also noted that Ruhrpumpen Egypt has supplied over 1,200 pumps to most Egyptian oil and gas companies, as well as to international markets including Germany, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, and England by 2023.

The General Manager also noted that the company’s plant has become the first in Egypt and the Middle East certified to produce all types of fire pumps with 100% local manufacturing.

He outlined Ruhrpumpen’s 2024/25 plans, which include expanding exports of locally manufactured pumps through partnerships with sector companies such as Enppi, Petrojet, Egypt Maintenance Company (EMC), and Petromaint. This expansion will leverage international projects contracted by these companies, while also extending the supply of pumps for the mining and mineral resources sector in alignment with government directives, as well as meeting the demand for pumps in the desalination sector to support major projects currently underway.

He added that the company participates annually in the EGYPES conference and exhibition, where it showcases its full product line to petroleum companies, enhancing awareness of the company’s offerings and services.
