Petrojet Establishes First LPG Storage Tank in Iraq’s Siba

Egypt’s Petroleum Projects & Technical Consultations Company (PETROJET) installed its first liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage tank at the Iraqi Siba gas field, reports Egypt Oil & Gas.

The tank was manufactured in Petrojet’s Basra workshops. According to the company, the horizontal cylindrical tank is 31 meters long and 4.6 meters in diameter. Its weight can reach 430 tons when in operation and it possesses a storage capacity of up to 450 cubic meters.

Petrojet aims to boost the field’s initial production capacity of 55 million cubic feet per day (mcf/d) to 110 mcf/d when the project is completed. Petrojet is executing the field’s project for Kuwait Energy Company.

Petrojet highlighted its Basra workshops during a visit by Salah Ismail, the head of Petrojet. A delegation of Iraqi oil and gas officials also visited the manufacturing workshops and toured the facilities to review their performance. The group also viewed the new storage tank to learn about its characteristics and its importance for the Siba gas field.

Petrojet owns four specialized manufacturing workshops in Basra. The workshops are certified by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001. Petrojet’s workshops own specialized tools for making static equipment.
