Petrobel Awarded 1st Place in the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects in Sinai, Canal Regions

Belayim Petroleum Company (Petrobel) has won first place in the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects in the Sinai region.

The company also won first place in the same initiative for the Canal Governorates region.

Governor of Port Said, Moheb Habashi, and the Governor of South Sinai, Khaled Mubarak, handed over certificates of appreciation to the company’s representatives.

Petrobel’s award comes as a positive result of its success in developing an autonomous system to implement annual campaigns to monitor and neutralize fugitive gas emissions in Petrobel’s fields in the governorates of South Sinai and Port Said.

This comes under the direction of Petrobel’s Chairman Khaled Mowafy who also assigned specialists to carry out these campaigns by the best human competencies of young engineers in order to create a new generation of distinguished human cadres in this vital field.

These campaigns were based on successful initiatives and efforts by Petrobel to build the capacity of a team of young male and female engineers and train them on the latest methods of monitoring emissions (Fugitive Emissions) to monitor greenhouse gas emissions and use the latest monitoring devices from the Italian company IEOC.

Mowafy stated that the presence of the green component in any project or initiative in the company is the basis of work in the current period and also looking at future mechanisms, to achieve the necessary balance between production and environmental preservation.
