Nigeria Starts Crude Oil Production in Lagos

A Nigerian firm had its first oil production from an offshore field in the commercial city of Lagos, which is the first output outside the country’s oil hub in the Niger delta, Vanguard reported.

The company, Yinka Folawiyo Petroleum Co.

Ltd (YFP), announced that it has commenced production of crude oil from its Aje field located in block OML 113 offshore Lagos, however although it did not disclose the volume of current output it said it has capacity to produce 40,000 barrels per day.

Subsea installation activities had been underway at Aje field since January and were completed in early March, Energy Mix Report added.
