Morocco’s Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy, Mines, Water, and Environment, Abderrahim El Hafidi, said that a number of investment opportunities were proposed to the Russian gas and oil companies during a joint working group held in Moscow, Shafaqna wrote.
El Hafidi praised the presence of the Moroccan delegation among several large Russian companies including giant Gazprom and Rosneft, and added that recommendations will be taken after the meetings to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the energy field, reported Morocco World News.
The North African country engaged in talks in order to explore the opportunities for Russia to supply gas to the Morocco’s domestic market.
Earlier in March, the two countries planned to cooperate on LNG supply, gas infrastructure, exploration of hydrocarbons, and the construction of power generation plant. Accordingly, El Hafidi said that energy ties with Russia aims at strengthening strategic energy reserves regionally.
