The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR) announced that the regasification vessel in Ain El-Sokhna is operating smoothly and is fully capable of meeting the market’s demand for natural gas.
This statement by the MoPMR addresses recent reports regarding malfunctions in the regasification vessel that allegedly led to changes in the routes of certain liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipments.
The ministry clarified that the delays in receiving some LNG shipments are part of an ongoing effort to update production and consumption models based on actual figures.
It added that this approach aims to achieve the optimal and most efficient energy mix while minimizing the import bill, leveraging the flexibility provided by contracts that allow for adjustments to the schedules of previously agreed shipments.
