At EGYPS 2023, the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Chevron to cooperate in capacity building and exchanging best practices related to low carbon projects, including those related to methane emissions management.

Alaa Hagar, Undersecretary of the Technical Office at the MoPMR, was the ministry’s representative for the MoU’s signing, and Kristian Svendsen, Chevron Egypt’s Country Manager, was Chevron’s representative. The signing took place in the presence of Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and Clay Neff, President of Chevron International Exploration and Production.
