Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi has held an extensive workshop at the ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital to highlight investment opportunities in the field of research, exploration and production offered through the Egypt Upstream Gateway (EUG).
The opportunities offered via EUG include 42 exploration opportunities in the Mediterranean and Red Seas, the Nile Delta, the Eastern and Western Deserts; four undeveloped discoveries in the Mediterranean Sea, and 15 opportunities in the field of exploiting old and obsolete fields in the Gulf of Suez, the Western Desert, and the Nile Delta.
The Minister emphasized that the strong attendance at this gathering reflects the sector’s commitment to working as a unified team, supporting Egypt’s growth and development goals, and maximizing the use of the country’s abundant oil and mineral resources.
Badawi expressed his confidence in the state’s ability to achieve its ambitions for the optimal utilization of its resources, positioning Egypt as a regional energy hub. He highlighted the diverse investment opportunities within the petroleum sector, along with its exceptional capabilities and highly skilled workforce—both men and women—who bring specialized expertise to the industry.
The minister emphasized the crucial role of the event’s attendees in promoting and capitalizing on these opportunities, while encouraging new investments to help achieve the goal of increasing production. Badawi noted that the Ministry, EGPC, and holding companies are committed to fully supporting investors, offering the necessary services and technical assistance through service companies, contracting firms, and sector companies with extensive experience in this field.
During the meeting, Mohamed Radwan, EUG Project Manager, gave an explanatory presentation showcasing the portal’s capabilities, enabling investors to access comprehensive data and take advantage of the opportunities it presents.
The meeting was held in the presence of Mohamed Abou El-Enein, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Engineer Talaat El-Sweidy, Chairman of the Energy and Environment Committee in the House of Representatives, Mohamed El-Sallab, Chairman of the Industry Committee in Parliament, and a host of leaders and members of the Parliament’s Energy Committees , the Industry Committee in the House of Representatives, representatives of the Federation of Industries, investors’ associations, Egyptian private oil companies, international companies, the Federation of Banks, and a host of prominent Egyptian businessmen and leaders of the petroleum sector.
