The Mineral Resources and Mining Industries Authority (MRMIA) has announced the closing dates for bidding on 13 mining blocks of talc and gold, with deadlines scheduled between September 1 and 4, 2026, as Egypt continues efforts to attract investment into its mineral resources sector.
The first deadline is set for September 1, covering Block T4, which is designated for talc, as well as six gold-bearing blocks: Bb83, Be81, De74, De75, Df75, and Df76.
The bidding deadline for Block Dd75, designated for gold, is set for September 2.
On September 3, bids will close for three additional gold blocks: Ca75, Cf76, and Dc71.
The final deadline, on September 4, applies to two gold blocks, Eh65 and Fa65.
MRMIA noted that if any of the closing dates coincide with an official public holiday, the deadline will be extended to the first working day following the end of the holiday.
The authority’s previous bidding round featured seven mining blocks with closing dates between August 25 and 28, 2026, covering gold and silver.
The bidding is occurring through the authority’s Open Blocks System (OBS), which allows companies to apply for mineral exploration blocks at any time, without waiting for a fixed bid round closing date.
