Malaysia’s SapuraKencana Announces Gas Discoveries

SapuraKencana Petroleum , Malaysia’s biggest oil and gas services company by market value, announced two natural gas discoveries rom its three-well 2015 drilling campaign within the Block SK408 Production Sharing Contract (PSC) area, offshore East Malaysia, Yahoo Finance reported.

The company noted that the Jeremin-1 which is located about 15km west of the F9 gas field encountered a 104m gross gas column, while Putat-1, located 20km north of the Cili Padi gas field is confirmed as a dry hole. “All wells have been safely plugged and abandoned,” it said according to The Sun Daily.

Both wells are close to existing infrastructure which supplies gas to Bintulu, Sarawak. Bintulu is the location of a large liquefied natural gas export terminal.
