Libya’s National Oil Corp. (NOC) has formed a special committee to accelerate talks with protesters that may lead to reopening of El Sharara and El Feel oilfields, Reuters reported.
The committee is to discuss raised salary demands for security guards. The disputes, protests and instability have kept the oilfields closed for a year.
The NOC has not scheduled fields reopening.
The two oilfields used to produce around 400,000 bpd of crude, however, they remain at further risk over the ongoing conflict between the two rival governments vying for control in Libya.
