Libya’s NOC Resumes Production from Faregh Field

The Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced that it has resumed the production from Faregh field which is operated by Waha oil Company after its shutdown nearly a year ago due to the closure of the oil terminals since January 2020, NOC’s statement said.

As a result of the shutdowns and unstable conditions in Libya, the contractor had to leave the field before completing the commissioning process.

In December, Waha went into negotiations with the contractor to come back and the company started its operation and resumed production reaching 140 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscf/d) of natural gas.

Its should be noted that the state will use 80 mmscf/d of the produced gas to supply the power plants at Sarir power station.
