Iraq to Invest 200 mscm/d of Gas from Dhi Qar Fields

The Undersecretary for Extraction Affairs of the Iraqi Oil Ministry, Karim Hattab, announced that the ministry plans to invest the gas associated with oil operations in Dhi Qar governorate through contracting an international company to invest 200 million standards cubic meters per day (mscm/d) of natural gas, INA reported.

This came while chairing a meeting with the joint management in the Al-Gharaf oil field located in Dhi Qar Governorates. Hattab pointed to the importance of expanding projects to develop oil fields and infrastructure as well as sustain production in the governorate.

According to a statement, Hattab said that “The governorate’s [Dhi Qar] fields are among the promising oil fields in Iraq, and they enjoy the Ministry’s interest, and are keen to provide a suitable work environment for national and foreign companies in order to achieve common goals.”
