Iran’s Oil Exports to Greece Increase

Iran started exporting 60,000b/d of crude oil to Greece,  under a recent agreement with Greece’s biggest oil refiner Hellenic Petroleum, Mehr News reported. “Greece was considered as one of Iran’s traditional oil markets before the sanctions were imposed on our country, and under the new agreement, we have resumed oil exports to the European country,” the Director of International Affairs at National Iranian Oil Company, Mohsen Qamsari, said.

Moreover, according to Hellenic Shipping News, Iran’s Deputy Oil Minister, Amir-Hossein Zamaninia, had recently stated that Greece’s Hellenic Petroleum would increase the volume of oil imports from Iran to 150,000b/d.

By his part, Greek Minister of Environment and Energy, Panos Skourleti, recently voiced his country’s willingness to transit Iran’s LNG to EU’s state members. Skourleti highlighted the potentials and capacities of the two countries, saying talks are being held to have Greece as the hub for transiting Iran’s LNG and CNG to Europe.
