Iran to Export LNG to Europe

Iranian Minister of Oil, Bijan Zanganeh, has announced the country’s plans to exports Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) to Europe, MEHR News Agency reported.

The announcement comes after reports of practical steps to begin Iranian gas exports to Europe. In July, National Iranian Gas Exports Company (NIGEC) Managing Director, Alireza Kameli, said the the Arab nation is finalizing a deal to export Iranian gas to Georgia. The gas will be transported through a supply station at a border village used for delivering gas to Armenia, according to Tasnim News Agency.

Iran has been boosting the country’s gas production capacity and exportation facilities in recent months, with Tehran signing a number of gas contracts with major international firms including German Siemens, Russian Gazprom, and South Korean Kogas
