Iran and Croatia entered talks over expansion of mutual ties in the oil and gas industry, according to Tehran’s Deputy Oil Minister for International Affairs, Amir Hossein Zamaninia, Mehr News reported. He said that Iran sees no limitations to potential cooperation and that the European side is mainly interested in providing technical and engineering services. Croatian oil&gas firms have proposed to supply maintenance services to the Iranian industry and provide overhaul to oil tankers, oil and gas pipelines, and refineries, according to The Iran Project.
Deputy Oil Minister added that negotiations began in Iran with the Croatian Ambassador to Tehran, Striebor Keric, as well as other representatives of ten Croatian oil firms. The talks came as Croatian state officials had previously called for an increase in imports of Iranian crude oil and petroleum products.
