GPC Strikes Oil in Abu Sennan Concession

The General Petroleum Company (GPC) has announced that it achieved a new oil discovery in Abu Sennan concession at the Western Desert after drilling DSWS-1X exploration well with investments worth $1.5 million, according to General Trade Union for Petroleum Workers (GTUPW).

According to the statement, the oil discovery has been realized after finding petroleum evidence on Abu Rawash E and middle Bahria reservoirs.

The results of the well-testing conducted on middle Bahria reservoir showed initial production rate of 1,200 barrels per day (bbl/d) of oil, and 1.2 million cubic meters (mmcm) of natural gas. GPC noted that it will continue to complete the test to evaluate the well and put it on the production line.
