GP Global announced it is to operate two bunker barges out of UAE’s port Jebel AIi, the largest port in the Middle East, Zawya has reported.
Each barge has a reported capacity of 4,800 MT of fuel oil and 1,000 MT of gas oil. This will constitute MAROPOL and ISO-compliant distillate marine, including high quality marine gasoil (MGO) grades such as DMA and DMB as well as residual fuels including RMG and RME grades.
This development comes in line with GP Global’s operations in the UAE at the Port of Fujairah, where it completed its first delivery of IMO compliant fuel oil, three months ahead of the January 2020 deadline.
Due to the strategic nature of the Jebel Ali Port which boasts connectivity with South Asia, North America and the Middle East, this investment will galvanize the business which reported a 25% growth in revenue last year.
