GE and Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop technologies that will strengthen energy conservation at ENOC’s facilities and enhance the performance of ENOC’s fuel and lubricants solutions, reported Trade Arabia.
The agreement targets ENOC Marketing’s business units including aviation fuel, lubricants, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), utilizing GE’s Industrial Internet solutions for operational efficiency and productivity.
According to a press release cited by Al-Bawaba, GE industrial software solutions, powered by Predix, the world’s first and only cloud-based operating system built exclusively for industry, provide a 20 % potential increase in performance. It is believed to be able to annually contribute $465b of economic value for industry across the MENAT and Pakistan by 2025.
GE is a long term partner of ENOC, having supplied advanced turbines to power its refinery operations. The MoU was announced on the sidelines of the Cisco Internet of Things World Forum in Dubai.
