ExxonMobil Updates Madbouly on its Current and Future Plans in Egypt

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met with John Ardill, Vice President of Global Exploration at ExxonMobil, at the government headquarters in the New Administrative Capital to review the status of several concession areas that are affiliated with the company in Egypt.

The meeting was attended by Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources; Amr Abou Eita, Chairman and Managing Director, at ExxonMobil Egypt; and a number of company officials.

The Prime Minister began the meeting by emphasizing that ExxonMobil is a strategic partner for Egypt in the energy sector. The meeting discussed the status of several of the company’s concession areas in Egypt, especially in the Mediterranean Sea, as well as to review future cooperation opportunities between the government and theĀ  company.

Ardill explained to the attendeesthe current status and work program for the company’s two natural gas concession areas in the Mediterranean Sea: the Cairo and Masry areas. He also discussed the modern technologies the company will use in its drilling operations, noting that drilling efforts are being intensified after the completion of seismic surveys in both areas as part of the exploration work.

Moreover, Ardill affirmed that ExxonMobil is accelerating its efforts to complete drilling operations in the aforementioned concession areas. I

Meanwhile, Badawi presented available investment opportunities in the areas of natural gas and oil exploration and prospection. He emphasized that ExxonMobil is considered one of Egypt’s most important foreign partners in the oil and gas sector.

ExxonMobil is an American multinational oil and gas corporation that is actively exploring for oil and gas in Egypt, particularly in the Mediterranean Sea and the Nile Delta.
