Eni Launches Program to Decarbonize Heavy Transport Sector

Eni has initiated a dedicated program to encourage the use of HVOlution, which is Eni’s first diesel produced from 100% renewable raw materials by its suppliers’ vehicles transporting fuels to Eni Live Stations.

Eni’s Program main aim is to decarbonize the heavy transport sector, which involves approximately 300 vehicles in Italy’s distribution service.

To date, more than 200,000 km have been covered using pure HVO, making it a major contributor to CO2 emission reduction.

A biofuel called HVOlution is created from leftover raw materials, vegetable waste, and oils from crops that don’t compete with the food chain.

The project is a component of Eni’s larger strategy to support all suppliers in achieving energy transition targets by advancing the decarbonization and sustainable growth of the supply chain and making reliable solutions available in accordance with technological neutrality and inclusivity.
