Energy Firms Make Up Half of Companies to be Listed on EGX: El Molla

Around half of the public sector companies set to be listed on the Egypt Stock Exchange (EGX) belong to the oil and energy sector, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla told Asharq Business.

Usually, in any listing, oil and gas firms are among the companies at the forefront of being listed on the stock exchange, attracting investors in this regard, whether in strategic investments or via the EGX, El Molla elaborated.

The listed firms will include some companies that are already listed or are in the process of preparations with banks and financial institutions. Currently, work is being done according to an ambitious plan with the Government Public Offerings Committee in line with efforts to have the biggest number of companies listed in the EGX, El Molla explained.
