EMC Awarded €46 Mn Maintenance Contract in Jordan

The Egyptian Maintenance Company (EMC)  secured a 10-year international contract valued at approximately €46 million to provide long-term maintenance for natural gas turbines at the Arab Potash Company’s power generation plant in Jordan, according to a statement by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR).

EMC won the contract following an intensive international bidding process with major specialized multinational companies. Under the agreement, the company will deliver integrated maintenance and technical support services for two Siemens Energy natural gas turbine units. The units generate 110 megawatt (MW) of electricity and produce 170 tons of steam per hour to supply the industrial operations at the complex, which produces fertilizers and associated minerals.

The contract expands EMC’s regional operational footprint in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) energy and industrial infrastructure markets. Additionally, the project aligns with the MoPMR’s ongoing strategic plan to expand the international operations of state-owned petroleum subsidiaries and boost their competitiveness in regional cross-border markets.

Established in 1997, the Egyptian Maintenance Company (EMC), commercially known as San Masr, is a prominent provider of maintenance and modification services to major crude oil, natural gas, petrochemical, pipeline, and refinery operators across Egypt.

Regarding ownership, the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) holds 50% of the shares, while the remaining 50% are held by Aibel.
