President Abdel Fattah El Sisi approved amendments to the law for natural gas market activities regulation, which were passed by the Egyptian parliament, Al Mal News reported.
The amendments involve the part of the law dealing with collecting fines due to violations, according to Mubasher.
Collected fines will be directed to the public treasury, instead of the Gas Regulatory Authority, as the authority gets sufficient money from other sources.
Moreover, the amendments were made to ensure transparency, as the regulatory authority was responsible for both issuing and collecting violation fines.
