The Minister of Petroleum, Tarek El Molla, has met Maen Razouqi, the Northern Middle East President at Schlumberger, and Karim Badawi, Schlumberger’s Egypt and East Mediterranean Managing Director, to discuss mutual projects in the Western Desert, Gulf of Suez and the Red Sea, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.
The meeting reviewed work progress in applying new techniques used in seismic surveys in the Gulf of Suez to enhance production rates and explore untapped reserves.
Schlumberger’s human resource program for young and middle-management leaders was also discussed during the meeting, with the first batch of around 114 professionals completing their training.
In addition, the company’s operational position in Egypt was evaluated and its marketing of petroleum products through an information center covering all exploration and production activities in Egypt.
Meanwhile, Razouqi confirmed that Schlumberger plans to increase its investments in Egypt.
