Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi met with Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs in Qatar.
The two ministers discussed ways to develop relations between the two countries in the field of energy and investment opportunities in Egypt in the fields of oil and gas exploration and production (E&P).
This comes within the framework of the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ strategy to attract investments and encourage companies to invest in promising areas to develop oil wealth resources and increase production.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Council of Ministers of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC), which was held on December 15th in Kuwait.
The meeting reviewed Qatar Energy’s investments in Egypt’s oil and gas sector, focusing on its partnerships with international companies in exploration and research activities across the Red Sea and the Mediterranean. The discussions also addressed the commencement of drilling operations in the western Mediterranean.
Additionally, the meeting highlighted Qatar Energy’s ambition to achieve successful and promising outcomes, supported by its observations of the abundant opportunities and potential for hydrocarbons in the region, along with positive projections for future developments.
