Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, inspected Sonker’s project as well as the Red Sea petrochemical complex in Ain Sokhna, according to a press release.
The minister toured the diesel and butane storage facilities in the Sonker project. He also followed up on the progress of the project’s units which will be completed by Petrojet. In this regard, El Molla stated that this project aligns with the ministry’s goals to improve petroleum products’ circulation and to help the state meet the local market’s needs and sustaining Egypt’s infrastructure to become a regional energy hub.
The minister also visited the Red Sea National Refining and Petrochemicals Company’s petrochemical complex project in Ain Sokhna. He oversaw the project’s Atmospheric Distillation Unit (ADU), which is implemented through the alliance of Enppi and Petrojet.
This project is one of the most important petrochemical projects and will help in sustaining the needs of the local and global market and the growing demand for petrochemical products. The project will also provide new job opportunities by creating a number of small and medium associated industries.
