El Molla Highlights Significance of Eliminating Petroleum Production Obstacles

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla has highlighted the importance of exerting more efforts with partners to overcome any possible obstacles that may face the sector in order to increase oil production rates as well as make optimal use of Egypt’s natural resources development.

This came during the inauguration of a workshop to discuss optimizing the use of Brownfields which is being held at the fields of General Petroleum Company (GPC) in Ras Ghareb with the participation of major national and international oil production and services companies.

El Molla affirmed that there are a lot of oil opportunities in the brownfield for the various production and services companies, especially in the light of current high prices and the availability of technology. The Minister emphasized the necessity of fossil fuel during the next decades for all global markets.

Nabil Abdel Sadeq, the Chairman of GPC stated that the production from brownfields reaches 70% noting that such workshop could encourage the continues efforts and plans to maximize the production from brownfields with minimum costs through applying the latest technologies.
