Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla has received Shannon Slocum, Eastern Hemisphere President at Halliburton, exploring stronger cooperation and the latest updates regarding professional development training programs as part of the Modernization project.
During the meeting, El Molla affirmed that the petroleum sector is executing an intensive drilling program as part of its oil and gas exploration and production (E&P) efforts, aiming to achieve new discoveries to help meet the nation’s needs for natural gas and petroleum products, in addition to exporting the surplus.
He noted that this intensive activity opens new horizons for companies to carry out complementary activities, especially after the Eastern Mediterranean has become a model for integration between the neighboring countries in the natural gas field.
Additionally, the minister praised Halliburton for its keenness to provide programs for training human cadres working in the sector.
For his part, Slocum lauded the efforts done by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR), further expressing his company’s commitment to work in Egypt.
During the meeting, the two parties discussed ways of getting benefits from Halliburton’s expertise in production from unconventional resources and brownfields through workshops.
