El-Molla Discusses Cooperation Projects in Lebanon

The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El-Molla discussed with his Lebanese counterpart Nada Bustani bilateral cooperation, Amwal Al Ghad reported.

Lebanon aims to benefit from the Egyptian experience in developing the oil and gas industry, as it begins natural gas exploration in territorial waters in light of the recent discoveries in the East Mediterranean.

Energy cooperation with Lebanon is a priority for Egypt, especially as Egyptian oil and gas companies are ready to implement projects in Lebanon, El-Molla pointed out.

On the other hand, the Lebanese Minister of Energy and Water confirmed the interest of the Lebanese government to enhance cooperation with Egypt in oil and gas, due to the accumulated Egyptian experience across the industry activities, especially in exploration and production (E&P).

The two countries agreed in May to increase cooperation in the energy sector, during the meetings of the High Joint Committee between Egypt and Lebanon.
