A recent report from Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Co (EGAS) stated that the Egyptian oil and gas sector is aiming to increase the country’s production of natural gas gradually from 4bcf/d to reach 6bcf/d of gas by 2020, reported Al Mal News.
The increase is planned to happen through several development projects in gas concessions, like Zohr field.
Foreign companies have already commenced work on about 10-13 projects, to develop and enhance gas fields, with investment worth $30b.
The Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources confirmed that during the last two years the government has implemented 18 gas development projects with investments worth $4.5b and with a production capacity of 1.7bcf/d gas in addition to 17b/d condensates.
