Egyptian and Jordanian companies signed two energy-sector Memoranda of Understanding, Amwal Al Ghad reports.
The Jordanian Egyptian Fajr Company, the Egyptian Natural Gas Company (Gasco), and Fajr Egypt signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a joint-venture company to operate and maintain oil and gas pipelines in Jordan, the newspaper reports.
The second Memorandum of Understanding covers the preparation of economic and operational feasibility studies for gas delivery projects in Aqaba, Amman, Zaraq, and Irbid. The studies will consider the feasibility of deliveries to household, commercial, and industrial consumers.
The Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, and his Jordanian counterpart, Saleh El Krasbsha, attended the signing ceremony and discussed further cooperation between Egypt and Jordan, particularly in the energy sector.
