Egypt, South Africa Seek Energy Cooperation

Tarek El Molla, the Egyptian Minister of Petroleum, received South Africa’s Ambassador to Egypt, Vusi Mavimbela, to discuss mutual cooperation between both countries in the oil, gas, and mining industries, Egypt Oil&Gas reported citing a press release from the Oil Ministry.

El Molla declared that African countries are viewed as important markets with numerous petroleum and mining potentials. Accordingly, the ministry supports collaboration between Egypt and other African nations to exchange expertise through joint efforts.

The minister added that there is a growing interest in mining activities due to Egypt’s wealth of unexplored minerals. Therefore, South Africa is a significant player in the market, particularly with its long history in the mining industry.

He concluded that the Ambassador was enthusiastic about Egypt’s participation in the International Mining Forum held annually in South Africa.
