Egypt has achieved highest production of crude oil and natural gas in its history during February 2019, producing 1.8 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (mmboe/d), said Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.

The country has linked around 1 million households to the natural gas national grid in 2018, El Molla highlighted during his meeting with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, to discuss oil and gas sector’s strategy.

The Egyptian oil and gas sector has attracted the highest investments in four years as companies invested around $27 billion in 2018. Moreover, the sector has made its highest contribution to the gross domestic product (GDP) during Q2 of fiscal year (FY) 2018/19, El Molla pointed out.
