Project. The Taweelah to Fujairah Gas Pipeline (TFP) will be 48 inches in diameter and over 240 kilometres in length — one of the longest and largest overland pipelines in the UAE.
The TFP will link Dolphin Energy’s gas receiving facilities at Taweelah, on the coast of Abu Dhabi, with the ADWEA Power and Water Desalination Plant at Qidfa, in Fujairah.
Bids for the TFP design and build project are due by January 31, 2008. The award is likely to be made during next summer, with site work expected to begin during third quarter 2008.
Nine contracting companies have been invited to bid: Al Jaber Energy, UAE; Consolidated Contractors Company, Greece; CPECC, China; Dodsal, India; Petrojet, Egypt; Snamprogetti, Italy; STG, Russia; Techint, Saudi Arabia and Technip, Germany. Dolphin Energy currently supplies the Qidfa plant with up to 135 million standard cubic feet of gas per day via Al Ain Fujairah Pipeline, which the company commissioned in January 2004.
The new TFP pipeline will support ADWEA’s proposed expansion and development programme at Qidfa, Fujairah.
