Egypt’s Petroleum Products, Gas Consumption Rose

Egypt consumed about 73.36m tons of petroleum products and natural gas during the fiscal year (FY) 2014/2015, compared to 73.04m tons in FY 2013/2014, an increase of 0.43%, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), Daily News Egypt reported.

As for the amount of carbon dioxide emissions produced by the consumption of petroleum products and natural gas, it has equaled 201.34m metric tons in the cited period, compared to 197.14 m tons in FY 2013/2014, resulting in an annual increase of 2.13%.

The report also declared that Egyptians consumed 6.60bcm of fresh water in FY 2013/2014, in comparison with 5.98bcm in FY 2012/2013, an annual increase of 10.4%.
