The Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), Chariot Limited, and Oort Energy have announced an agreement to work together on green hydrogen pilot projects in Morocco.
This partnership will run an initial proof of concept projects while assessing the viability of the implementation of large-scale green hydrogen and ammonia production. The polymer electrolyte membrane (“PEM”) electrolyser system, patented by Oort, splits water to produce hydrogen and oxygen using renewable energy.
The partnership will simultaneously enhance education and capacity building around green hydrogen and ammonia generation thanks to Chariot’s experience assessing the economic viability of such projects and UM6P’s network and local knowledge. One of the pilot projects will presumably take place in the research and development center in OCP Jorf Lasfar, Morocco.
